Swimming WorkoutDate: May 27, 2009 - Evening Workout Distance: 4,300 SCY (Short Course Yards) Main Set: 2 x 200yd flutter kick with board on 4:30 Times: 2:42 / 2:41 Main Set 2: 6 x 500yd alternating 1 zoomer, 2 free all on 8:00 Times Zoomer: 5:09 / 5:17 Times Free: 5:12 / 5:15 / 5:27 (ow) / 5:23 Average Time Free: 5:19 Notes: I was amazed at how fast I felt at the start of this set. but it didn't surprise me at all how badly it ended. that third repeat hurt so bad i was inhaling water on every breath. it really helped a lot that the pool was set up for short course yards... I was expecting it to be set up for long course meters. yards is so much easier to do after you've had some time off, as swimming ability is not nearly as important (you get that little rest on the turns). thompson was slogging it out as well, and fared a little better on the back half than i did. we were actually planning to do 7 of the 500s, but we got kicked out of the pool because of a fire alarm. i pretty much had enough of 500s with the six of them though, so I would be lying if I said I was disappointed that I couldn't do seven! |
