Swimming Workout

Date: March 5, 2009

Total Distance: 3,400 yards (Short Course Yards)

Main Set 1: 40 reps A4 (all-out effort) on 1:30, alternating 2 x thru of: 5 reps parachute all-out (pulling 26inch diameter parachute for 25yd) 5 reps stationary (30 pulls as fast as possible) 8 reps 50yd freestyle, all-out effort, with a no-wall turn around buoy at end of 50 & swim out to flags 2 reps 50yd freestyle all-out with zoomers

Main Set 2: 20 x 25yd freestyle on 1:00 - A4 (all-out effort) Then, 4 x breakouts (15yd all-out sprints) on 1:00

Notes: This was workout #2 with professional triathlete David Thompson. The workout hurt a lot, and it was LONG. Overall, I was pretty happy with the outcome. It was impossible to get accurate times with everything except the zoomer repeats (holding 24s and 25s for those). But I gave it my best shot nonetheless.
