In my one-on-one coaching sessions, I will evaluate your swimming technique on a personal level and recommend what works best for you. You will swim a challenging set in order to try out my suggestions and improve your performance. The set might not be the same length and intensity as a workout of professional triathlete David Thompson, but the design will be similar.
My swim clinics are meant for anyone who wants to succeed in triathlon and swimming. I am especially motivated to work with talented bikers and runners who struggle in the pool. It takes a lot of guts to sweat it out in a sport that is so tough to learn. I am very excited to teach you all that I know!
My coaching philosophy is to suit up and swim with you. This allows me to evaluate your swim from the deck and under the water. I will demonstrate techniques so you can see what I am talking about. I keep track of performance metrics and email these to you so that you can monitor improvements over time. After all, if it’s not written down, then how do you know it happened? All of your performance metrics are yours and remain confidential, unless you want to brag about them!
New swim techniques are best learned at speed, and the challenging set is there for you to try out new techniques. Like any sport, swimming involves a lot of complex motion. It is one thing to move your body through those motions, and it is another to practice them when you get tired. Besides, what’s fun about swimming slow? How many triathletes out there don’t like to train hard?
